LA Galaxy return home on Wednesday apparently having accomplished what needed to be accomplished during a rain-interrupted 10-day training camp in Arizona, LA Times report.

On Tuesday, the Galaxy defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps, 2-0, for the second time in as many days. On Monday, it was goals by Chris Birchall and Juan Pablo Angel that undid the Whitecaps. Twenty-four hours later, Adam Cristman and Chad Barrett scored in another 2-0 victory.

Galaxy open the Major League Soccer season March 15 against the Sounders in Seattle. Next Thursday, less than three weeks before the season starts, David Beckham will rejoin the team after ending his training spell with Tottenham Hotspur in England.

"He's been great to have around the place and he's just a top-class bloke, a proper good lad," Tottenham Coach Harry Redknapp said of Beckham, whose MLS contract ends this year. "He's welcome back any time.

"I think he would have brought something to the team if we could have got him on loan. But who knows? It's not impossible that he may be back here in the future. He can still play, he can still pick a pass out."

Vinnie Jones is enlisting soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and David Beckham for a remake of 'Escape to Victory', the 1981 cult classic movie -directed by John Huston- featuring former soccer aces Pelé, Bobby Moore and Oscar Ardiles

Sir Michael Caine and Sylvester Stallone also starred in the original movie – known only as ‘Victory’ in North America - which told the story of a group of allied prisoners of war escaping a German prison camp in World War II.

Discussing his plans previously, Vinnie Jones said there were “lots of players” potentially up for parts in the project. “It's a three-year process, minimum. We've got stuff going on. We're trying to produce a remake of 'Escape to Victory' - we've got a lot of players involved but it takes a while to get things going here."
