Becks: Milan has boosted my career

Becks is set to win his 109th cap in Saturday's friendly against Slovakia and that means that the Milan player will overtake Bobby Moore's record of appearances - for an outfield player. The overall record is held by goalkeeper Peter Shilton with 125 caps.

And Beckham knows why he's going to get this honor: "Obviously being at AC Milan now, it gives me more of a chance to be at that higher level.

"I think it was more about the fitness side than anything else but obviously I've had to adjust my game to the Italian game too."

It seems that when David Beckham does return to Galaxy from San Siro the fans there will not greet him warmly.

“The booing, the criticism I’ve had it all before. That side of it doesn’t bother me".

What we don't know yet is how happy are the people that bought a season ticket in LA in the hope of seeing the star who signed for them play a full season (s).

David Beckham to pay Galaxy for loan extension

David Beckham is spending his own money to remain on loan with AC Milan where he will stay through the end of the Italian season, on May 31. He and AC Milan are jointly paying the Los Angeles Galaxy a "multimillion dollar deal" to extend his loan.

The two sides were negotiating for weeks and agreed on the loan extension hours before it was due to expire after AC Milan's game Sunday.

"The obvious - reason for staying at Milan - is giving me the chance to play in the 2010 World Cup," Beckham told SNTV. "I personally have to do everything I can do to be involved in that. Everyone knows how passionate I am about playing for my country and, if it gives me a better chance of being involved in that squad, I'll do anything possible to make that happen."

"We never felt we were losing David; we felt all along he was getting back," Galaxy general manager and coach Bruce Arena said on Sunday.
