David Beckham Can't Wait To Pull On AC Milan Jersey

Goal.com - AC Milan - Beckham Can't Wait To Pull On Milan Shirt
Football superstar David Beckham can't wait to put on the Milan shirt after finalising his loan move to the Rossoneri in January. He hopes that playing for one of Europe's most prestigious teams will help him to secure a place in the English national team, as he's desperate to take part in the 2010 World Cup.

The 33-year-old will arrive in Milan just before Christmas to settle and will start training with his (temporary) new team from January.

"It's important to play regularly if you want to stay in shape," the former England captain said. "That's one of the reasons I decided to go to Milan for a few months.

"I will get to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world and wear England's shirt at the same time, which is an honour for any player.

"I want to keep representing my nation, but I'll take it one game at a time."

Beckham also talked about new England boss Fabio Capello, who has led the Three Lions to four wins in their first four World Cup qualifying matches.

"He is doing well in his management of every single player and the team as a whole," said the former Real Madrid man.

"He's also doing well for England as a nation because there was such gloom after we failed to qualify for Euro 2008. The important thing is to stay focused and continue to play like this so we can reach the 2010 World Cup. There's still a lot of work to do."
