The leaders of the Western Conference, LA Galaxy, played the leaders of the Eastern Conference, New England Revolution, yesterday. Galaxy dominated the second half but, this time they couldn't overturn the two-goal deficit from the first half.
Adam Cristman scored twice for the visitors in quick succession in the first 45 minutes, and could have got a hat trick just before the half-time whistle but hit the post with an empty net in front of him.
In the second half. Landon Donovan was brought off the bench where he was parked because of a flu bug, and Galaxy completely dominated from then on, peppering the Revolution goal without finding a way through.
Beckham finally gave them hope in the 66th minute with a deflected goal, but other than one shot on the crossbar, Beckham and Co just couldn't force the equaliser.
