Trinidad stadium dispute could bounce Becks back to Toronto

A dispute over Hasely Crawford Stadium rental terms in Trinidad and Tobago between Trinidad and Tobago's ministry of sport and the national football federation could pave the way for David Beckham to make his first on-field appearance in Toronto on May 31 after all.

The English midfielder is to represent his country in an exhibition game against Trinidad and Tobago in Port of Spain on June 1 and was subsequently ruled out of his Major League Soccer team's only Toronto appearance this season.

However a spokesman for England's Football Association was quoted as saying, "We have not been made aware of any threat to the game and fully expect it to go ahead as planned."
